It tricks people into thinking I still have the original points distributor. Fun. I would like to push the advance curve harder at lower rpm. I'm having a hard time finding weights for it. Suggestions? FYI for moved into the new place, awesome shop! I'll have to include a picture once I figure out where to post them again. _________________________ Mark '67 Camaro L6-250 | Top | | #94203 - 06/23/18 08:04 AM Re: Distributor weights for Atlas engine [Re: mshaw230] | Active BB Member Registered: 12/18/14 Posts: 335 Loc: Washington State | Ahhh, I should say the vortec4200 inline six cylinder that was in newer Chevy vehicles. I got a set of springs of different strengths from summit, but even the heaviest was too light. Somebody told me they changed the weights. Leads on springs would be good to. _________________________ Mark '67 Camaro L6-250 | Top | | #94205 - 06/23/18 02:42 PM Re: Distributor weights for Atlas engine [Re: mshaw230] | Active BB Member Registered: 12/18/14 Posts: 335 Loc: Washington State | Let's try sharing some pictures! It doesn't look like it's going to work, you'll need to copy and paste into a browser to see them if they don't come through. There's an extra 2 car garage and a good size shop along with it. I had them vapor sealed and coated. A friend with a '67, also a 250, stopped by! As I understand it, the Atlas Vortec 4200 is a coil on plug ignition system and doesn't have a distributor. Are you using a Vortec 4.3 V6 distributor? | Top | | #94212 - 06/24/18 02:24 PM Re: Distributor weights for Atlas engine [Re: mshaw230] | Active BB Member Registered: 12/18/14 Posts: 335 Loc: Washington State | http://www.langdonsstovebolt.com/store/#!/Stovebolt-Mini-HEI-for-GM-216-235-261-&-GMC/p/1222040/category=18665949 I bought it from Tom Langdon, thought he said it was from the inline 6, but mauve is the v6. Seems I just need to give Tom a call, eh? _________________________ Mark '67 Camaro L6-250 | Top | | #94300 - 07/05/18 06:25 PM Re: Distributor weights for Atlas engine [Re: mshaw230] | Active BB Member Registered: 12/18/14 Posts: 335 Loc: Washington State | Hi CNN-Dude, I talked to Tom last week. He said the distributor was from a 1985 Chevy pickup. I assumed incorrectly that it was an atlas vortec. Any idea? Thanks, Mark _________________________ Mark '67 Camaro L6-250 | Top | | #94304 - 07/07/18 08:10 PM Re: Distributor weights for Atlas engine [Re: mshaw230] | Active BB Member Registered: 12/18/14 Posts: 335 Loc: Washington State | Oh great, thanks for the info! _________________________ Mark '67 Camaro L6-250 | Top | | | Sponsored Advertisement | | | | Vortec 4200 Weight
